Re: The Golden Globes Predictions Contest

Wow…. first time in 20 years on this boardn that I win a prediction contest… It almost makes me think that it could be considered like a lifetime achievement award, but because no one voted for me and it was a prediction contest, and in Allison Janey's words, "I did it all by myself…" :D S...

Absolutely. But I'm also entitled to put it out there that we should remember to have a little respect if I don't think it's being shown.

Absolutely

Re: GG: Best Supporting Actor

I did it! I swore I wasn't going to mess with my ballot before the night started and I did and I lost a category. The Golden Globes have forecasted Best Supporting Actor 8 of the last 10 times. The two they missed were Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Sylvester Stallone, both of whom were not nominated for...

Re: The Golden Globes Predictions Contest

I’m not on the “hated it” side of Promising Young Woman. I think it’s a fairly entertaining black comedy. It’s well edited and Mulligan deserves a nomination (my wife on the other hand absolutely loathed the film). My prediction of it winning best picture is very much in line with Reza. It’s the cur...

Re: Nomadland

Certainly, this is yet another 2020 movie that desperately warranted the immersive effect of the big screen. I totally understand this point. I was lucky enough to have seen the film on the big screen last November and I believe that the impact of its scope is much different if seen on a tv screen.

Re: Nomadland

OK, back to discussion of the film. Nomadland is a film abut resilience. Bad things happen to good people in the film, but they are overcome. While the film is technically an adaptation of Jessica Bruder's non-fiction book, the main storyline was created for the film. Three of the major supporting ...
