I don't remember many speeches from previous years that seemed to clinch the rest of the televised awards for an actor, but Close's speech was shiver-inducing. When bad Oscars happen to good actors, I guess?

The shortlist for the music categories on the Oscar website is nice, but it omits the actual songwriters - an impressive list of performers. You haven't listed the songwriters either, though -- that's a list of the performers of the songs. (Some of them are ALSO the songwriters, but not all.) Oops!...

A critical overview of the nominees can be found here . The expansion of the main categories results in good and bad, as is to be expected. Much as I chafe against seeing mediocre streaming giants like Drake and Post Malone so well represented, I can't fault the Grammys for recognizing what the main...
