Re: 2018 Tony Awards

So, it seems I'm not the only one who didn't like that annoying backstage woman and didn't know who she was, either. Neil Patrick Harris & Rachel Bloom’s Tony Awards Feud Is Cringeworthy By Joe Reid @joereid Jun 11, 2018 at 9:50am Robert De Niro may have had his boxing fists up in defiance at Do...

Re: Everything Is Great and Amazing

Apparently not. Robert Costa (Washington Post) spoke with his wife who says he's doing fine. The Wikipedia page no longer says he died.

Re: Everything Is Great and Amazing

While waiting to meet Kim, Treat tweeted that Kudlow had a heart attack and is at Walter Reed Hospital.

His Wikipedia page says he died! Wishful thinking, or do they know something we don't?

Re: Best Cinematography 2003

I'd cite Lost in Translation , 21 Grams and Whale Rider as possible alternatives to Cold Mountain and Seabiscuit . They as well as City of God and Master and Commander are all strong runners-up for me, but I have to go with the undervalued Eduardo Serra for the beautifully photographed Girl with a P...

Re: 2018 Tony Awards

Magilla, I imagine "Blow High, Blow Low" was selected to show off Carousel's choreography, which had been one of its most buzzed-about elements (and one of its eventual Tony winners). There aren't too many other big production numbers in that score. "June Is Bustin' Out All Over"...

Re: 2018 Tony Awards

In case you were wondering what Robert De Niro said that got him bleeped, it was “I’m going to say this—FUCK TRUMP. It’s no longer ‘Down with Trump,’ it’s FUCK TRUMP.”

Re: 2018 Tony Awards

The only thing I really didn't like was that annoying backstage announcer - I think they used her last year, too. Having listened to all of the cast recordings of the nominated musicals except for Carousel (just released on digital - album streets next month), I can't argue with any of the musical a...

Re: Congratulations Dame Emma Thompson

I think they meant more when they were given out much more sparsely. May Whitty was the only one who was always billed with her title after receiving it. Sybil Thorndike, Edith Evans and Peggy Ashcroft were sometimes billed with it, but more often weren't, although all three of Evans' Oscar nominati...

Re: 2018 Tony Awards

The Times predictions seem accurate. The biggest question of the night is how long will Glenda Jackson's standing ovation last? As for the featured acting winners - I would say Nathan Lane, Laurie Metcalf, Norbert Leo Butz and either Lindsay Mendez or Diana Rigg. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/07/t...

Re: A Star is Born

Interestingly, the emphasis in the trailer is on the fading star, not the one being born.

It's also the first version in which the male lead is billed above the female lead.

Re: Everything Is Great and Amazing

I'd like to see them all go to jail. Aside from Manafort, however, I don't think any of the high profile jackasses will spend more than a day behind bars.

Speaking of Manafort, I hope they have enough on Trump without his help. I don't want to see him getting out of jail free.
