I doubt it. The prevailing view within the industry, as headlined in Hollywood Elsewhere, is that "O.J. Simpson Has Gone to Hell."

IMDB and every article I’ve read lists him in the cast. You heard otherwise?
Yes, he was replaced by Giancarlo Esposito who the Variety article has been corrected to include in place of Whitaker.

Re: Ripley

Blanchett's character was not in Highsmith's original. It was created for the 1999 film.

Started to watch episode 1 last night, fell asleep before it ended. Will pick it up at some point.

Re: Best Supporting Actor 1958

Chevalier was campaigned in lead. Gingold's omission was a headscratcher. She and Peggy Cass, who was nominated for Auntie Mame campaigned incessantly on late night TV. One campaign worked, one didn't.

Re: Best Supporting Actor 1961

Montgomery Clift was the sentimental favorite, not just for the performance alone for which he either waived his fee or took scale (forget which), but for having lost three times previously for The Search , A Place in the Sun , and From Here to Eternity . He and Judy Garland were the expected winners.

Re: Megalopolis reviews

Greg, have you read the responses to the article, one of them posted by Coppola himself 14 hours ago, respectfully correcting the author on several points? His response is included in the link you provided although it came four hours after you provided it so unless you've checked it again you wouldn...

Re: 2024 Governors Awards

Genuine question: when you compare the length of time a host like Bob Hope takes vs Jimmy Kimmel, is it genuinely that much different? Probably not, but the whole production number that goes along with the host's opening monologue before the first award is handed out takes more time than it did in ...

Re: Best Supporting Actor 1958

I’m not sure whether Donat's performance opposite Ingrid Bergman in The Inn of the Sixth Happiness was considered a lead but posthumous nominations in the supporting categories didn't happen until Ralph Richardson in 1984 and haven't happened since. Heath Ledger received a posthumous Best Supportin...

Star of It Came from Outer Space?

I prefer to remember her for Magnificent Obsession, Bigger Than Life, No Down Payment, The Young Philadelphians, Hombre, and even Can't Stop the Music, and for her many guest star appearances in TV, especially a 1987 episode of Murder, She Wrote.

Re: 2024 Governors Awards

I don't remember that happening with the honorary awards although I do recall it happening once or twice with the scientific awards. They waste a lot of time at the Oscars with nonsense like selfies with the host, wandering tourists, and this year, drinks for the attendees. Worst of all, the opening...

Re: Best Supporting Actor 1958

If I were to amend my comments from twelve years ago, I would call this one of the most disappointing years in this category. Calling it the absolute worst was probably unfair. As I pointed out then, the rules in 1958 were different than they were in 2012 and things have only gotten more difficult f...
